B-2 Bomber In Flight 1680 x 1050 Widescreen Wallpaper

The B-2 has one of the most distinctive shapes in aviation. It's a beautiful flying wing designed for stealth that only flies because of advances in fly-by-wire technology.

Back in the 1990's I worked at Northrop on the B-2A Stealth Bomber. I suppose with every platform you know there will be attrition, but that fact doesn't make watching this billion dollar bomber go up in flames any easier.

Fast forward the video to the 2:00 minute mark to see the crash aircraft. The first aircraft that takes off is fine... it's the second one that crashes.

Less than 20 of these beauties left in the world. Here's a nice shot of the B-2 parked on the flightline. I probably say this every time I post, but I used to build these aircraft. Nothing like them in the world.

There's beauty in the engineering of all planes, particularly those with Stealth in mind. Enjoy!

Photo was cropped, slightly saturated, and sharpened. The levels were near perfect in the original. It's a great shot.
