USAF and South Korean Air Force F-16 Formation Flight

Given the recent conflict between North Korea and South Korea, I figured it was a good time to show our solidarity with our South Korean Allies.

These guys play at altitudes and speeds unthinkable for other fighters.

It's been way too long since we've had a good F-14 Tomcat wallpaper. Check out these F-14D Tomcats in formation. I'm still in denial that these amazing fighters are no longer flying.

Navy F-5N Adversary Fighters 1680 x 1050 Widescreen Wallpaper

Here's a sight, two retired Swiss F-5s converted to US Navy Adversary aircraft. The Navy is going to use these F-5N's to train fleet pilots in adversary tactics.

I'm kinda surprised on the plane choice but I'm sure they have their reasons. The F-5 used to pull adversary duty with USAF Aggressors but now F-16s and F-15s do it. The Navy definitely won't be simulating SU-30's with these completely outmatched F-5s.

CV-22 Osprey and MH-53 Pave Low Special Operations Aircraft 1680 x 1050 Widescreen Wallpaper

Excellent photo of the CV-22 Osprey in formation with a MH-53 Pave Low helicopter. The Osprey will replace the Pave Low in special operations duty. These aircraft are based out of Hurlburt Field in Florida.

Nice shot here of two A-10 Thunderbolts in formation of a range in Alaska. The AK on the tails represents Eielson AFB, Alaska.

It's interesting that the A-10 would get stationed there, but I'm sure there's a reason.

Nice shot of two F-18 Super Hornets flying in formation (hooks down). I think the Navy squadrons have done a great job personalizing the Hornets (like they did with the Tomcats).

Nice shot of the F/A-22 with the Royal Air Force Red Arrows. The Red Arrows fly the BAE Hawk aircraft (a low cost trainer) but fly spectacular demonstrations.

Here's another formation photo for the history books. You have a NASA SR-71 and F-16XL in close formation flight. They were using the XL to fly within 200 feet of SR-71 to gather test data on supersonic shock waves.

Hey all, it's great to be back. The trip to London and Paris was excellent and I recommend you visit these great cities at least once in your life.

Also, a BIG thanks to Pieter who helped out during the week. He did a great job and the wallpapers posted are excellent. Great job Pieter!

Today's wallpaper is a formation flight consisting of the F-22 and F-15 Aggressors. I doubt there's much of a fight there but the F-22 gets good target practice.
